Charles Euphrasie Kuwwaseg was a student of Durand-Brager and Eugène Isabey. However, he first worked as a seafarer on long-distance voyages before becoming an official painter who, beginning in 1855, exhibited picturesque views of Normandy and elsewhere at the Paris Salon. His works arenow housed in numerous museums, notably the Museums of Fine Arts in Rouen, Rennes, and Fécamp.
