Art Nouveau Stoneware Vase From The Villeroy & Boch Factory In Mettlach, Model No. 2434.
The piece has an ovoid shape with a wavy neck, decorated with large poppies in shades of salmon pink and yellow on a deep blue background, with stylized foliage and light highlights. The design, highly characteristic of Mettlach’s Jugendstil production, is finely incised and particularly decorative.
On the underside of the base are the incised mark Mettlach / VB, the inscription Ges. Gesch. as well as the model number 2434.
