Kartel Armchair, Piero Lissoni And Carlo Tamborini, 2007
Model Details
- Frame: Made of rigid, transparent polycarbonate. Its unique feature is that it can be completely disassembled.
- Comfort: Large removable cushions filled with goose down or polyurethane.
- Condition: The transparent frame appears complete and intact; the cushion fabric shows signs of wear typical of light-colored textiles in this line.
- The Pop model by Kartell was created in 2007. It was first presented at the Milan International Furniture Fair by designer Piero Lissoni, in collaboration with Carlo Tamborini, revolutionizing furniture with its industrial structure made entirely of transparent polycarbonate.
- The original 2007 version of the Pop armchair and sofa is distinguished by specific design choices that marked the launch of this line:
- 1. "Goose Down" (Indoor) Upholstery: For the very first 2007 series intended for indoor use, Kartell offered high-end upholstery composed of goose down and Fibranne flakes.
This choice gives the cushions a very soft, “plump,” and inviting appearance (though they do sag slightly with use)
2. The Textile Partnership with Missoni (2007) From its launch in 2007, the Pop model stood out thanks to a major collaboration with the famous Italian fashion house Missoni.
- Kartell offered the transparent frame covered in heavy fabrics in Missoni’s iconic colorful tones.
- The solid-color versions from that era primarily used the Nilo fabric, a rich blend of cotton (46%), viscose (45%), linen (8%), and silk (1%). This high-end fabric with a textured weave closely resembles the one used on these cushions.
- The slatted seat modules are identical.
- The side panels (armrests) and the backrest clip and screw onto this common base
