Fischel, Niemes Bohemia Austria, Fischel & Sons was originally established in Niemes, Bohemia, in the Czech Republic; later, Fischel founded a branch in Vienna. In 1913, Fischel, just like Thonet, began manufacturing bentwood furniture and was very successful in this field; the Austrian architect and designer Josef Hoffman, co-founder of the Wiener Werkstätte, designed numerous pieces of furniture for Fischel.
