Pink Crystal Paperweight With Millefiori Design – Pantin / Clichy – 19th Century
Antique ruby-pink transparent crystal paperweight with polychrome millefiori decoration, attributed to the Clichy crystal factory.
It features large oval facets arranged around the perimeter, as well as a circular window at the top through which the millefiori compositions encased in the crystal can be viewed.
The design consists of rosettes and floral bouquets set against a background of white filigree.
The underside features a surface cut into a regular grid pattern of crossbars, a characteristic found on certain 19th-century French paperweights, particularly those produced in Clichy.
