Art Nouveau Vase, Vienna Secession – Austria, Ca. 1900 – Amber Glass And Opalescent Cabochons
Art Nouveau Viennese Secession Vase – Austria, circa 1900 – Amber glass and opalescent cabochons
A charming small vase in orange-amber glass, ovoid in shape with a wide ring-shaped neck, crafted in Central Europe circa 1900–1910, in the style of the Austrian Secession.
Geometric decoration featuring angular motifs and interlaced lines, enhanced with gilding and adorned with applied opalescent glass cabochons that shimmer with delicate bluish hues.
These raised cabochons, set within gilded frames, form an essential element of the decorative composition.
The symmetrical ornamentation, combining broken lines, triangular motifs, and opalescent appliqués, evokes Bohemian stained-glass creations and the artistic explorations of the Vienna Secession in the early 20th century.
