Large, Ornate Vase With Rectangular Panels, Decorated With Hyacinths By Daum, Circa 1896, Gallé Era
Artist: Daum
A very pretty "parlant" vase with a red hyacinth design by Daum, circa 1892–1896.
A beautiful vase, entirely etched and finely glazed over with a red hyacinth design. This is a rare model that is not the traditional “square-sided” shape but is much larger, forming a large rectangle. Note especially the exceptional condition of this piece—no enamel is missing, no gilding is missing from the neck or the decoration, not even any scratches under the base. It looks as if it were made yesterday, even though this piece is 130 years old!
The ensemble is enhanced by a small inscription reading “A tout seigneur, tout honneur,” which is also in perfect condition.
Here we see all the finesse of Daum—truly incomparable.
In perfect condition, 12.5 cm tall, 9.5 cm long, and 7 cm wide, signed in gold on the base (1892–1896)
A very delicate antique piece in exceptional condition.
