Model 1855 Saber
We are offering for sale this infantry officer’s saber, either the 1855 model or the 1845 model modified in 1855, dating from the 19th century or the Third Republic.
Gilded and chiseled brass mountings, with an openwork guard adorned with floral motifs and scrollwork.
The horn pommel should be wrapped in twisted copper or brass filigree, which is missing.
There are no markings on the blade, which could indicate civilian manufacture.
