Small Louis XVI-style Writing Desk With A Top Section And Elaborate Inlay Decoration
An elegant and refined small writing desk with an upper section that evokes the French Louis XVI style of the 18th century, featuring striking inlay work on an ebony background. The upper lift-top section is crowned by a perforated brass railing and features three small central drawers and two side doors. On the latter stand two vases with tulips, crafted from light-colored woods against a dark background. The top and the front flap are decorated with trompe-l’œil inlays depicting desk and dressing table items: letters, a pen, an inkwell, cups, jugs, and small bottles.
