Early 20th Century. A Mischievous Kitten
Cat lovers will immediately recognize in this little feline—painted around the beginning of the 20th century on canvas mounted on a panel—what captivates us so much: an innocent, gentle expression, yet a twinkle of mischief shines deep in its eyes.
This little Angora cat is beautifully rendered by the painter, who did not take the precaution of signing the work; this sketch was either a gift or intended for the artist himself.
It is framed with a small carved wooden frame, likely from the original time.
It is in good condition; a little cleaning and a fresh coat of varnish will restore its luster.
