"atlantean" Coffee Table In Gilded Bronze And Gold-leafed Glass
A 20th-century rectangular coffee table in gilded bronze, inspired by the Neoclassical style.
It stands out for the delicacy and richness of its ornamentation. Its clear glass top reveals a design executed in gold leaf
. The table’s rim is adorned with a carved frieze of festooned drapery featuring refined tassels, surmounted by a beaded border. The entire piece rests on a curved base supported by four sculpted Atlantean figures with cascading feet, depicted with their arms raised to support the table’s rim. Each leg rises in a graceful curve, ending in finely chiseled lion’s paw feet topped with foliage motifs. Finally, an X-shaped crossbar with flowing lines, centered with a fleur-de-lis, connects the four legs at their center.
