This magnificent vintage tea set is a French enameled metal piece by the "BB" brand (BB Frères) dating from the first half of the 20th century (primarily from the 1930s to the 1950s). The brand was highly renowned at the time for its high-quality, heavy-gauge enamel kitchenware and utensils. These pieces feature a superb gradient of fiery red accented by delicate gold friezes and small hand-painted floral or dotted motifs in relief. The matching tray holds a teapot, a lidded sugar bowl, and a large pitcher (or jug). The central logo is the traditional hallmark of the Austrian manufacturer Austria Email (formerly the J.&H. Baumann), characterized by crossed branches of foliage surmounting the letters B.B. The number “1528” corresponds to the model with the specific design reserved for this collection, and the number “12” generally indicates the size of the piece.
