Antique Victorian Gold Turquoise Ruby Diamond Dove of Peace Brooch

A beautiful Victorian-era yellow gold “Dove of Peace” brooch, finely modelled as a bird in flight carrying a flowering branch in its beak, a traditional symbol of peace and hope.

The dove is realistically detailed with textured and engraved feather work across the wings, body and tail. The upper edges of the wings are set with four graduated round cabochon turquoise stones, while the tail is further accented with a row of six turquoise cabochons.

Held in the bird’s beak is a finely worked gold branch with textured leaves and a delicate forget-me-not flower, set with five turquoise cabochons surrounding a central clear diamond accent. The bird’s eye is picked out with a small pink-red ruby, giving the piece additional character and colour.

The reverse is fitted with a traditional hinged pin and C-clasp, together with an integrated circular safety loop.

A particularly attractive and symbolic antique jewel, combining the much-loved Dove of Peace motif with turquoise, ruby and diamond decoration.
