An elegant Georgian oval brooch featuring a hand-painted portrait miniature attributed to the school of Edward Miles, housed beneath protective curved glass.

The portrait depicts a young woman bust-length, wearing a cream-coloured garment, with softly curled brown hair and her gaze directed to the left. A continuous border of 44 individually set seed pearls frames the painting, complementing the warm tones of the rose gold mount.

The outer frame and reverse backing plate have been assessed as solid 9-carat rose gold. The reverse is fitted with a long, straight pin and a traditional open C-clasp, with the pin extending beyond the edge of the frame.
