Baccarat – Crystal Liquor Set, Made Of Pressed And Molded Crystal And Gilded With Gold – Napoleonic Era
Baccarat – Liqueur set in pressed, molded crystal with gold plating – Napoleon III period
A set from a liqueur cabinet, produced by the Baccarat factory during the Napoleon III era in the 19th century. It includes four decanters with their stoppers and twelve glasses made of pressed molded crystal, embellished with gold-leaf decoration.
The decanters feature a faceted body on a square base, topped by a rounded shoulder and a flared neck. Their flat-topped stoppers, with faceted edges, complete this elegant silhouette. The decoration combines delicate leafy sprigs with geometric interlacing patterns forming diamond shapes on the shoulders. Gold bands highlight the necks and the base of the bodies.
The twelve glasses feature the same botanical motifs on a flared bowl with vertical reliefs, supported by a short stem and a square base edged with a gold fillet. The harmony of shapes and ornamentation lends this set a beautiful balance.
The transparency of the crystal and the brilliance of the gilding combine to create a luminous ensemble, evocative of the refinement of Second Empire salons. A beautiful collector’s set, intended to complement an antique liqueur cabinet or to be displayed on a tray.
Set sold on its own, without the liqueur cabinet case.
In very good condition.
