Paul Jackson Signed Studio Pottery Rocking Jug Female Nude Figural 2003 Ceramic
This is an authentic signed hand-built and wheel-altered earthenware studio pottery "Rocking Jug" pitcher by British ceramicist Paul Jackson. The asymmetrical sculptural vessel features a highly flattened, sinuous body with an angled pouring spout on one side and a long, curved black handle extending along the opposite edge. The multi-colored exterior surface is hand-painted in a multi-paneled abstract layout featuring blocks of purple, yellow, light blue, pink, and dark grey slips. One face displays a sketch-style illustration of a seated female nude figure next to a second rear-facing seated figure, while the opposite face displays a standing male figure. The interior cavity of the pitcher is coated in a uniform, high-gloss dark blue glaze. The raw terracotta underside of the base is hand-signed in black underglaze script reading Paul Jackson 2003.
