Paul Pierre EMIOT was born in Marseille in 1887. He died in Vitrolles in 1950. He is renowned for his luminous depictions of the Mediterranean coastline. Beginning in 1920, he exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français, of which he was a member. He was an outstanding colorist associated with the Post-Impressionist movement. Paul Pierre Emiot is listed in the "Bénézit." The painting is highlighted by an American-style frame, whose black color brings out the brilliance of the red rocks. The dimensions, including the frame, are 42.5 cm x 50 cm. At the base of the frame is an old label.
