These are Lyon seats by Sébastien Carpantier(1733-1813) M:1770 with horseshoe seat and medallion backrest presenting the very latest Louis XV residues (stiffed Louis XV rear base, and armrest console support in Lyon whip type 1, typical Louis XV model). The mixture of the two bases, before Louis XVI tronconic in bell and behind Louis XV stiffened is very very rare. These seats confirm that during the Louis XV, Louis XVI transition, the latest residues are the rear base and the console support.
