Fragrance Set, 18th Century, Asian-style Decor, Perfume Bottles, Solid Silver
An 18th-century toiletries set, made of red-lacquered wood and decorated with gold and black chinoiserie motifs, still containing its four glass bottles with solid silver stoppers and several toiletries accessories.
The lid of this box features a lively scene of Chinese figures set against a landscape of pavilions, trees, rocks, and vegetation.
The sides and front are also adorned with landscapes and flowering branches, rendered in gold and black on a red lacquer background.
The interior is lined with an antique pale green fabric and fitted with compartments designed to hold four faceted glass bottles, each with its solid silver stopper.
