Large 18th-century Snuffbox, Limoges Enamel Box, Decorative Pieces, Shuttle-shaped Box, 1770
Antique and large oval snuffbox in polychrome enamel. Beautiful Neoclassical decoration featuring medallions imitating ancient coins (Roman and Greek) on an intense cobalt blue background, highlighted with finely executed gold accents. The gilt brass mount is richly chased with vegetal motifs. The inside of the lid displays a magnificent, exquisitely hand-painted polychrome floral monogram. The letters K & M are intertwined. All sides are decorated. Limoges work from the second half of the 18th century. 9.8cm x 7cm x 4.5cm. Very good condition.
