French White Lacquered Metal Mirror With Looped Wire Frame And Fan Crest, 1950s

A charming French wall mirror from the 1950s, distinguished by its elegant shield-shaped form and airy decorative metalwork. Crafted in white lacquered metal, the frame features delicate looped wire details running along both sides, creating a light and sculptural silhouette that reflects the refined decorative sensibilities of mid-century French design.

The mirror is crowned with a stylized fan-shaped crest, echoed by a smaller fan motif at the base, lending the piece a subtle neoclassical character while maintaining the playful elegance typical of French decorative arts from the period. The white lacquer finish enhances its delicate appearance and makes it particularly well suited to both traditional and modern interiors.

Age-related paint losses and areas of foxing and spotting to the mirror plate contribute to the authentic vintage character of the piece. The combination of decorative wirework, architectural symmetry, and softly aged surface gives the mirror a distinctive presence.

Ideal for use in an entryway, powder room, bedroom, or dressing area, this mirror serves as both a functional object and a decorative accent with unmistakable French mid-century charm.
