An exceptionally rare “Saphir” sideboard designed by Christophe Gevers for De Coene Frères in 1962 — one of only three examples originally produced for the firm’s showrooms in Brussels, Kortrijk, and Liège.

Crafted in teak, the piece features an all‑over sculpted geometric façade composed of pyramid‑shaped panels that catch the light in rhythmic relief. The design exemplifies Gevers’ architectural precision and De Coene’s mastery of veneering and joinery.

Two hinged doors open to reveal shelved storage and central felt‑lined cutlery drawers, combining functional elegance with sculptural presence. The back is fully finished, allowing the sideboard to stand freely in a room.
