A writing desk serving as a candlestick, inkwell, and pencil holder, dating from the Empire or Restoration period, made of bronze gilded with matte, burnished gold, combined with bronze featuring a dark patina. On a finely chiseled, shell-shaped pedestal resting on small spherical feet, a patinated bronze cherub bears on his head a small bowl made of acanthus leaves that serves as a candleholder. He holds two pen holders and faces three removable cups for ink, sand, and wax, held in place by leaf-decorated rims. The back features a curved carrying handle.
