English Empire / Return From Egypt Mahogany Chest Of Drawers – Carved Columns – Claw Feet
A beautiful and imposing Empire-period chest of drawers, crafted from mahogany, featuring a particularly decorative design.
The front features four large drawers, including a slightly projecting top drawer, as well as two small drawers arranged in the upper tier.
The front is framed by two particularly interesting carved side panels, adorned at the top with a design evoking pineapple leaves, and extending downward into fluted columns.
The piece rests at the front on sturdy carved legs shaped like lion’s paws, characteristic of the Empire decorative style.
The drawers are fitted with mother-of-pearl knobs and brass lock plates, providing a lovely contrast to the deep hue of the mahogany.
A striking piece of furniture, both elegant and architectural, ideal in a classic interior or paired with a more contemporary decor.
