Large 19th-century Baroque Headboard Made Of Carved And Gilded Wood – New Blue Velvet – 200 Cm

A spectacular headboard, two meters wide, adorned with a large antique carved and gilded wooden pediment from the 19th century, in the Louis XV style.

The pediment shows a few minor signs of age, consistent with its authenticity; it is adorned with a rich, openwork, symmetrical design featuring broad scrolls, acanthus leaves, flowers, and rocaille volutes.

The center features a flower-filled basin, framed by leafy scrollwork. The intricately carved piece retains its beautiful antique gilding.

The deep blue velvet is entirely new and in perfect condition. It offers an interesting contrast to the antique gilding and highlights the theatrical character of the composition.

The generous proportions are particularly well-suited for a 180- or 200-cm bed. This piece can also serve as a remarkable decorative element in a bedroom, a private mansion, or a distinctive interior.
