Small Marquetry Chest Of Drawers, Transition Style, 19th Century

Small chest of drawers in the Louis XV–Louis XVI transitional style, French craftsmanship from the late 19th century, circa 1870–1890.

Made of veneered wood, it features a slightly curved front with four drawers decorated with delicate floral and foliage marquetry, accented by contrasting wood moldings.

Its traditional construction, with solid-wood drawers joined by hand-carved dovetail joints, places its manufacture in the second half of the 19th century.

It is embellished with rich gilded bronze hardware: pull handles, lock plates, long foliage-motif finials, apron trim, and foot pieces.

The sides are adorned with veneered panels framed by fillets. The piece rests on four slightly arched legs and is topped by a beautiful red marble top veined with white, featuring a molded edge.

This chest of drawers comes with its key and is in excellent condition.

Thanks to its unusual proportions and shallow depth, it will easily fit in an entryway, bedroom, living room, or between two windows.
