Paul Bonnaud In Limoges – Enameled Single-flower Vase With Art Nouveau Floral Decoration, Circa 1900–1910
Small, long-necked baluster vase in Limoges enamel, created by Paul Bonnaud, an enamel artist active in Limoges in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The vase features a rich, continuous floral design composed of large white and gold flowers, accompanied by green foliage, set against a deep background with shades of violet and purple. The gold highlights add light and dimension to the overall design, while the variations in the background give the surface a beautiful depth.
The slender shape, slightly flared at the base, is characteristic of decorative pieces from the Art Nouveau period. The base is accented by a small gilded metal frame or border.
The piece is signed “P. Bonnaud” and also bears the inscription “Limoges” in gold letters in the lower part of the design.
Made in Limoges, circa 1900–1910.
A beautiful piece representative of the revival of the art of enamel in Limoges at the turn of the 20th century, featuring a particularly decorative naturalistic design.
The metal collar is missing.
