Parisian porcelain soup tureen - Locré Manufactory - Empire Period 1810–1820* Large soup tureen with lid on an oval foot, Locré Manufactory (Manufactory of the Duke of Angoulême), Empire period. The lid handle is shaped like a twisted dolphin and is entirely gilded with gold leaf; the handles feature gilded leaf-motif volutes; the central decoration consists of a radiating star with gilded trefoils on both the body and lid, accented with gold fillets. Very white and lustrous porcelain; original gilding with slight wear consistent with the period. Excellent condition; only slight wear to the gilding on the rim, as shown in the photos. Dimensions: Height 33.8 cm with lid, Length 37 cm. Weight: 3 kg.
