Bronze Sculpture – Moses With The Tablets Of The Law After Michelangelo – Stone Pedestal
Elegant bronze sculpture depicting Moses with the Tablets of the Law, inspired by Michelangelo’s celebrated Moses, created for the tomb of Pope Julius II and housed in the Basilica of San Pietro in Vincoli in Rome.
Moses is depicted seated in a solemn and monumental pose, with his long beard, richly draped garments and the Tablets of the Law, characteristic elements of Michelangelo’s famous composition.
The sculpture displays particularly fine modelling, evident in the rendering of the face, beard, hands, tablets and numerous folds of the drapery. The bronze has a beautiful dark patina with greenish tones, enhancing the depth of the relief and giving the piece an appealing antique character.
The sculpture rests on a rectangular base and is presented on a stone pedestal.
A striking decorative piece, ideal for a sculpture collection, study, library or distinguished interior.
