Arts & Crafts Fishing Rod Holder Made Of Oak And Brass, Circa 1900, Ref1192
Antique cane rack made of solid oak and brass, in the Arts & Crafts style, dating from the very early 20th century.
The openwork structure consists of fine vertical bars and rests on four turned legs. The lower section features a hammered brass drip tray, originally silver-plated.
The metal components bear the inscription:
“PAT. FEB. 10.02”
This notation corresponds to a patent date of February 10, 1902, allowing the model to be precisely dated to this period.
With its geometric design and use of solid oak and hammered brass, this cane holder belongs to the Arts & Crafts aesthetic, which was particularly prevalent in Great Britain and the United States at the time.
The patent marking in English suggests Anglo-American manufacture or distribution, though it is currently not possible to attribute the object with certainty to a specific manufacturer.
