18th- Or 19th-century Storage Bench
A storage bench, also known as a “cantou” bench, made of oak and softwood with seating for two; this piece of folk art furniture was used to keep salt dry and was placed as close as possible to the fireplace. Today, it is often used as a shoe cabinet in entryways or for other purposes.
