Oil on canvas, 61 cm x 50 cm, sold with its gilded wooden frame, 80 cm x 65 cm; signed and dated 1895 in the lower left corner. I was unable to make out the signature. A portrait of exceptional quality, particularly due to its free and sensitive style, which reflects a certain detachment from the academic style that was dominant at the time. The modeling of the face, the brushwork, and the restraint of the execution give it a particularly modern presence for its era.
