The parade showcases all the city’s trades and guilds: saddlers, glaziers, locksmiths, farriers, tinsmiths, boilermakers, gardeners, florists, weavers, tanners, brewers, and coopers, butchers, bakers, fishmongers (with live fish transported in a boat), confectioners, carpenters, masons, papermakers, lithographers (with a working press on a cart), and bookbinders and printers. It also includes plates depicting festivities in Strasbourg’s main square, including one of the “Coopers’ Dance,” all of great social interest.
