Louis XV-style Trumeau In Gilded Wood
A very charming Louis XV-style trumeau featuring all the hallmarks of the style: velvet, curves, and acanthus leaves.
At the top, in the panel, is the famous “Halte de Chasse” painted by Carl Van Loo (Charles André Van Loo) in 1737 for King Louis XV’s private apartments at the Château de Fontainebleau.
The frame is made of wood gilded with gold leaf. Beautiful original gilding.
Dated to the 20th century.
