After receiving guidance from Paul Meslé, he studied at the Académie Ranson (1917–1919) in Paris. Along with Roland Oudot, Maurice Brianchon, Christian Caillard, Roger Limouse, and Raymond Legueult, he formed the group known as the Painters of Poetic Reality. He was a member of the Academy of Fine Arts (1960).
This artist’s works are primarily housed at the André Planson Museum in La Ferté-sous-Jouarre.
Pierre Mac-Orlan wrote an essay about him.
