Artist: Ausay

A fine portrait of the young officer “Bonaparte,” presented in a beautiful frame of varnished black ebony with a guilloché bronze border; this charming portrait of the Lieutenant Colonel of the First Corsican Battalion, with his assertive gaze, is a fresh 19th-century painting on ivory featuring beautiful colors and a realistic, delicate touch—a decorative collector’s piece of considerable interest, in very good condition
