Kaysersberg – Watercolor By Boursin – View Of The Alsatian Village – Early 20th Century
A beautiful watercolor depicting Kaysersberg in Alsace, with its traditional half-timbered houses lining the river, a stone bridge, and the Vosges mountains in the background.
The composition offers a particularly picturesque view of the village, brought to life by the Alsatian architecture and the river in the foreground.
The work is signed “Boursin” in the lower left corner and labeled “Kaysersberg” beneath the signature.
A very beautiful watercolor painting, rendered in a soft palette of blues, greens, and ochres, with particularly meticulous attention to detail in the houses, vegetation, and reflections on the water.
Presented under glass with its antique mat, in a large molded wooden frame with gilded foliage decoration, identical to that of the other Colmar watercolor.
Condition: generally good condition. A few foxing spots and signs of age on the mat. Minor wear and imperfections in the frame’s gilding, visible in the photographs, but not detracting from the overall presentation.
