Hugo Löffler – Nymphs By A Lake

Oil on canvas depicting a mythological scene in a mountainous landscape with an evocative atmosphere. Two young nymphs are depicted in the foreground, at the edge of a lake, while a faun watches them from the rocky shore. In the background, a vast mountainous landscape unfolds beneath a dramatic sky.

The work stands out for its Symbolist and Romantic character, as well as for its subtle palette dominated by shades of brown, blue, and green. The delicately lit female figures create a striking contrast with the darker, more mysterious landscape surrounding them.
