Pair Of Vietnamese Bedside Tables Made Of Carved Wood With Mother-of-pearl Inlays, 20th Century

A very elegant pair of Vietnamese nightstands, crafted from dark exotic wood and richly adorned with mother-of-pearl inlay.

The tops, with their undulating shapes, feature delicate scenes inspired by traditional Vietnamese motifs—including pavilions, foliage, trees, and birds—enhanced with iridescent mother-of-pearl. Delicate inscriptions in Asian characters complete the design.

The structure is particularly refined, with a carved and openwork band featuring plant motifs, resting on four richly carved, curved legs.

The contrast between the dark wood, the carving, and the shimmering reflections of the mother-of-pearl gives this pair a remarkable decorative presence. The design reflects the strong influence of Chinese art on Vietnamese furniture.

A particularly elegant pair, suitable for use as nightstands or side tables, ideal in a classic, eclectic, or Asian-inspired interior.
