French Limoges Porcelain Tea Caddy With Sterling Silver Lid, Circa 1900

An elegant French Limoges porcelain tea caddy dating from circa 1900, beautifully decorated with hand-painted floral motifs and fitted with a hallmarked silver mount and removable lid. The square-section porcelain body, with softly rounded corners, is painted on a white ground with delicate bouquets of pink roses and vivid blue flowers surrounded by green foliage. Fine cobalt-blue bands encircle the body and are punctuated by small gilt details, creating a particularly refined and decorative composition.

The base bears a Limoges, France mark, confirming its French porcelain origin. The neck and substantial domed lid are mounted in silver and bear French hallmarks, together with the number 2720. The contrast between the brightly polished silver and the delicately painted porcelain gives the piece considerable charm.
