Ferdinand Barbedienne (paris, 1810–1892): Handheld Candlestick In Bronze With Polychrome Enamels
Elegant handheld candlestick in bronze and polychrome enamel, featuring a rich floral design of Oriental inspiration.
The circular bowl is entirely adorned with enamel decoration in particularly vibrant colors: turquoise blue, cobalt blue, red, green, and yellow, arranged in floral and foliage motifs within geometric panels.
In the center stands a tall, similarly enameled vase, featuring the same decorative motifs.
The openwork bronze handle on the side, finished with a trefoil motif, allows for easy transport of the candlestick.
The reverse side, left in bronze, features an antique patina with some traces of oxidation, visible in the photographs.
A beautiful decorative object, remarkable for the finesse of its enamel work and the intensity of its colors.
