Sceaux Earthenware Plate
We are selling this plate and attribute it to the Sceaux factory in the Paris region. It has a distinctive luster. It is believed to have been produced during the period when the factory was run by Jacques and Jullien in Sceaux, around 1765–1770. It was fired at a low temperature, which gives it this milky white appearance. The edges are jagged, with purplish-pink outlines. The design features a burst carnation with a peony.
