19th-century Louis XVI Half-moon Console Table, Gilded Wood, With Coat Of Arms, Crest, And Floral Motifs, And Marble Inlay
Louis XVI-style half-moon console table, made of carved and gilded wood, richly decorated with a frieze of interlaced floral motifs around the top; in the center, an oval medallion with a knot features a combined coat of arms with a double shield surmounted by a count’s crown, flanked on either side by a beautiful floral garland. Tapered, fluted legs joined by a crossbar decorated with a fire pot or flowered urn.
Top in white marble veined with gray, with raised side edges. Dated to the 19th century.
This console table is in good condition and of fine quality. Its rich floral and foliage decoration makes it highly decorative and elegant, qualities enhanced by the presence of polychrome coats of arms.
Please note: It has been restored in places; there are some chips and missing wood (notably on the garlands) as well as missing gilding, along with wear and dirt accumulated over time—please examine the photos carefully.
