Carved and gilded wood frame. The gilded sight edge opens onto a carved torus of recurring laurel leaves. They run in a continuous sequence along all four sides and are bound by crossed ribbons at the centres and corners. The outer profile is plain and moulded. The laurel torus bound by crossed ribbons reflects the Louis XVI taste. The steady rhythm of the carving and the worn gilding give the frame a restrained, unified look.

Condition report: Good state of preservation, with signs of age and wear to the gilding.
