Two taxidermied bird specimens mounted on black velvet, signed in red "Ledot Jne," set in an oval frame of molded oak with domed glass, comprising a specimen from the family Alcedinidae of the species known as the Senegal Kingfisher-hunter from Senegal, and a specimen from the family Scolopacidae of the species known as the Spotted Sandpiper (Calidris pugnax) or, synonymously, Philomachus pugnax.
On the back of the frame is an old stamp from the taxidermy workshop indicating the 1878 World’s Fair.
