Tang Dynasty Chinese Terracotta Male Attendant With Original Polychrome (618–907 Ad)

A Chinese Tang dynasty (618–907 AD) terracotta figure of a standing male attendant, wearing a long robe and distinctive headwear. His face retains original polychrome decoration, including painted details around the eyes and mouth—an unusual and attractive survival.

Height: 25 cm.

The left foot has an old repair, and the nose is chipped. Two old collectors’ labels remain on the figure.

Provenance: Private collection, south of France.
