Martin-Sauvaigo (1881–1970), an artist from Nice, was appointed Official Painter to the Navy in 1922. He studied under Félix Ziem and later under Alexis Mossa. He received the Gold Medal from the Société des Artistes Français in 1934.
His works are included in the collections of several museums (the Masséna Museum in Nice, the National Museum of Modern Art in Paris, the Nantes Museum, etc.)
