Original 17th-century Work: An Engraved Collection Of Raphael's Stuccoes By Pietro Santi Bartoli

This 17th-century historical work brings together the famous engravings by Pietro Santi Bartoli, based on the stuccoes and decorations executed by Giovanni da Udine after Raphael in the loggias of the Vatican Palace, originally published under the title “em Parerga, atque ornamenta, ex Raphaelis Sanctij prototypis, a Ioanne Nannio Utinensi, in Vaticani Palatij Xystis...“


Published in Rome around 1675–1677 under the direction of publisher Giovanni Giacomo de Rossi and dedicated to Cardinal Camillo Massimo

This is an edition from the very first printing, authenticated by its laid paper fromwhich bears the extremely rare Roman watermark depicting a donkey (a characteristic mark of paper mills in the Roman region used specifically around the years 1670–1680)

The copy is complete with its forty-three engraved plates.
The overall condition is very good; note small stains on some plates.
