Boucheron Paris – Gold-plated Silver Powder Box With Openwork Design Of Birds And Flowers, Rubies – Circa 1940

An antique powder compact signed Boucheron Paris, made around the 1940s–1950s, featuring a particularly intricate openwork design of birds flitting among flowering and leafy branches.
The design is entirely chiseled and engraved, with several flowers accented by small ruby cabochons.
The setting is made of solid silver with a vermeil finish and is fully hallmarked.
The powder compact opens via a fluted push button and reveals an interior with several compartments: a mirror, a compartment for powder, and various hinged panels.
The exterior surfaces also feature a finely fluted design. The “Boucheron Paris” signature is visible on the inner frame.
French craftsmanship, circa 1940–1950. The piece retains its mechanism, mirror, and interior fittings.

.Boucheron: Founded in Paris in 1858 by Frédéric Boucheron, the house moved to Place Vendôme in 1893. Alongside its jewelry line, the house developed a collection of precious objects and toiletries combining precious metals, semi-precious stones, and engraved or openwork decorations.
