A Gilded Bronze Wall Clock From The Louis XVI Period, With The Dial Signed “lacan A Paris”

Important chiseled and gilded bronze wall clock, signed “LACAN A PARIS” on the white enamel dial.
The dial displays the hours in Roman numerals and the minutes in Arabic numerals in intervals of 5; the hands are made of openwork, chiseled brass. The movement is also signed “Lacan Paris” on the plate and retains its original wire suspension and disc balance wheel.
The case is made of chiseled bronze and topped with an urn, decorated with cascading garlands of foliage and scrolls surmounted by ram’s heads on either side of the dial; the sides feature openwork brass latticework.
Original mercury gilding; the movement is in working order and comes with its key.
